JP Griffin & Sons Newsagents and Booksellers could, in all probability, celebrate any number of anniversaries or milestones. The business is so long established within Castleisland’s Latin Quarter that any given week or month could reveal a good reason or two.

However, it is because the business is celebrating 20 years as a book-seller that Griffin’s are offering a golden opportunity for a student to win her or his school-books for the year ahead.

Draw on August 14th

“We’re running a draw for the opportunity to win your school-books this year. The promotion is getting a great response and as a result we’ve decided to postpone the draw date to Friday, August 14th

This, we feel, will give customers an extra opportunity to drop in their lists before that date,” said proprietor, Don McSweeney.

Support from Schools

“We are very busy with the preparation of school books at the moment and we are very grateful for the support we get from both customers and the local schools. In addition to school-books, we stock a full range of school stationery and offer a school-book covering service.
“We are also stocking the full range of Educate.ie exam papers – which are published locally by Walsh Colour Print. This is a case of the traditional book-shop embracing the technology of the age being presented by the Castleisland based company. This range will be available at Griffin’s for the first time in the course of this week.

Buying and Selling Second-Hand School Books

“Finally, we are still buying second-hand secondary school books and we urgently need more of certain Junior Cert and Leaving Cert titles to satisfy customer demand,” Don concluded.
Griffin’s Newsagents and Book-Sellers can be contacted Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5-30pm on 066 71 42 220 or by calling to the shop on Killarney Road, Castleisland.
