The passing of one of Castleisland’s most senior and respected citizens, Eily O’Sullivan – nee McCarthy – has been announced.
Eily celebrated her 80th birthday with a huge family party at the River Island Hotel in November 2009.
The matriarch of a large and very close family, Eily will be greatly missed by them all and by her circle of close friends and neighbours on Desmond’s Avenue. May God be good to her.

The death has occurred of Eileen (Eily) O’Sullivan (née McCarthy) 10 Desmonds Avenue, Castleisland.
Beloved wife of the late Dan and mother of the late John. Sadly missed by her loving family Kathleen (U.S.A.), Joan, Denis, Phyllis and Mary, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Tangney’s Funeral Home, Castleisland on Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to Castleisland Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am. Burial afterwards in St.John’s Cemetery, Castleisland. House private please.
