A photograph and a note arrived from Noeleen Tangney O’Shea and her little helper, Maryanne to thank all who supported them in their Hospice Coffee Morning at their home in Currow. .
“All the contributions were a great help in the outcome – which was a grand total of €4,130. We’re delighted as it’s a cause very close to my heart. I’m attaching the pic to say thank you to everyone who helped us to raise that total. Maybe you’ll add it to The Maine Valley Post to thank everyone from us,” said Scart native, Noeleen on behalf of the two of them.
The Irish Hospice Foundation was set up in 1986 to fund and develop specific hospice services.
Since then the work has expanded to address the needs of people dying in hospitals, at home and in other care settings.
The hospice movement works to provide equity in access to palliative care services for all patients with life limiting illness.
It also promote discussion of a broad range of issues related to dying, death and bereavement, in order to identify what matters most to Irish people at the end of life and how best to address their concerns.
The Hospice Foundation in Kerry is expending its services and its fundraisers are constantly looking for people with fundraising ideas.
People who have had experience of the service provided by the Kerry Hospice Foundation – or their relatives – often go on to become fundraisers in appreciation of the outstanding care provided to a loved one at a critical time. You can find out more about the Kerry Hospice Foundation here:
