Off on their charity travels: Dublin City University students and Beg, Borrow & Steal event team-mates: Aisling Kirwan, Castleisland (left) and Amber Hayes from Drogheda raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society in conjunction with the Movember foundation.

Aisling Kirwan from Castleisland is a Communication Studies student at Dublin City University. Previous to attending DCU. At second level, Aisling was a student in St. Joseph’s Presentation Secondary School, Castleisland.

On November 18th Aisling and her team-mate Amber Hayes from Drogheda will be participating in DCU’s Beg Borrow & Steal.

“This is an event in which 100 teams of two are racing to Berlin with no money, relying completely on the kindness of strangers and the gift of the gab and we’re aiming to raise over €30,000 for the Irish Cancer Society in association with the Movember Foundation,” said Aisling.

“Before the event begins, we need to raise as much as we can for the Irish Cancer Society. Many of the national, daily newspapers and on-line news sites have picked up this story. I would really appreciate if you would too as having support from the people of my town would mean a lot to me,” said Aisling – Aisling is a daughter of Peter and Mary Kirwan and sister of musician and all-round sportsman, Jack Kirwan.

Last year alone this event raised €25,000 for the Donal Walsh LiveLife Foundation and the organisers are aiming to improve dramatically upon that this year for the Irish Cancer Society. If you wish to donate to any of the teams below you can via the Paypal donation buttons.
