Damaging Gusts and Storm Force Winds to Strike this Afternoon

Today

Rain in the west will spread quickly to all parts this morning. The rain will clear again to scattered showers early this afternoon but it will become very windy with severe or possibly damaging gusts. Southerly winds will veer southwest this morning and increase strong to gale force this afternoon with strong gale to storm force winds near west coasts. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
Tonight

Winds will ease early tonight to fresh or strong from the west, but winds will back southwest overnight and become strong again with gales on coasts. The night will start mainly dry, however later in the night rain will arrive in the west. Mild with lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
Tomorrow

Rain will spread again to all parts during the morning and will be followed by showers in the afternoon, some heavy. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees. Windy for much of the day with fresh to strong southwest winds, continuing to reach gale force at times near coasts.
