The death has occurred of Mary Jackman – née Daly, College Road, Castleisland.
A generation here will remember Mary Daly (82) as one of the valued staff of The Crown Hotel. Under the guidance of the irreplaceable, Betty Knight RIP and with the likes of Betty Bradley and Ann Brosnan and many more, the town centre establishment was known the length and breadth of the country as a place of great warmth and welcome.
Mary was a lady who took great pride in her appearance. She was stylish to her fingertips and had the elegance and poise to carry it off. She had a laugh that would warm your heart and she didn’t hold back when the occasion arose. May God be good to her.
The announcement and funeral arrangements are as follows:
Mary Jackman (nee Daly), College Road, Castleisland, Co Kerry, January 5th, 2016, peacefully, in the loving care of the Matron and staff of the Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee. Sadly missed by her loving husband Pat, brothers Dermot and Tony, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at Tangney’s Funeral Home, Castleisland on this Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to Castleisland Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. John’s Cemetery, Castleisland. May she rest in Peace.
