TG4 Presenter to Lecture on ‘The Many Uses of Seaweed’

Did we know of the existance of Sea Spagetti? – we do now and we’ll know more after Tuesday night’s lecture at St. Pats by Darach Ó Murchú.

“Castleisland Heritage Society presents Darach Ó Murchú and his lecture, The Many Uses of Seaweed on the coming Tuesday night, January 12th 2016 at 7.30pm in St.Patrick’s Boys’ Secondary School, College Road, Castleisland,” according to society co-founder, Maggie Prendiville.
“Darach, Dublin born with a West kerry mom, works in environmental, outdoor and nature education as a teacher and facilitator of wild food foraging courses and he specialises in seaweed. He’s a Leave No Trace trainer and an International Mountain Leader where he provides mountain training, guided walks, treks and climbs.
“He is currently undergoing Bushcraft and Forest Schools training to enable him to deliver holistic and experiential nature connection and education programmes to school children.
His interests also include Herbalism, Permaculture, community growing of food and other traditional living skills.

“He is chair of the Leave No Trace Ireland Education and Advisory Group. Darach loves spending time by the sea, be it rock pool gazing, foraging, swimming or just being in awe of the ocean and its creations. All are welcome to attend,” said Maggie.
