There is an air of sadness and shock in his native Brosna and in his adopted Castleisland at the passing of Ger McAuliffe.
Ger (58) passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday night and the sad news has been filtering throughout the area since.
A gentleman to his fingertips, Ger’s relaxation was a game of pool and a few hands of cards with his friend, John Scollard at Hartnett’s Bar. There was never a need to ask if they were enjoying themselves as hop balls and laughter were the chief emissions from the huddle around the card table.
May God be good to him.
