We have just about of five hours of winter-time 2015/16 left and after what we’ve been through most will be delighted with the onset of brighter, longer evenings. So, don’t forget that the clocks go forward one hour at 1am on this very Easter Sunday morning!
It is under British Summer Time (BST) that we set and re-set our clocks in March and October of each year.
Summer time begins officially on the last Sunday in March, as clocks move an hour forward at 1am on Sunday morning.
It ends on the last Sunday of October. Since 2002 the beginning and end of BST have coincided with a clock change across the European Union – known as Central European Summer Time.
So, if you’re a stickler for time and detail you can wait up ‘til 1am. and move your clock forward – or do it when you come in from the pub – if you’re not.
Either way you’ll lose an hour’s sleep by the time you wake up in the morning – if you’re a stickler for time. It’s Summer-time !
