“Bhain na páistí an-taitneamh as lucht TG4 agus na ceamaraí ag dul timpeall an scoil roimh an Nollaig seo caite. Ba mhór an ocáid don scoil féachaint agus canadh le ‘Seo Linn’. Is múinteóirí bunscoile triúr díobh agus is Gaeilge ar fad a bhí á labhairt ar fad acu,” –  arsa priomh ide Gaelscoil Aogáin, Tomás Ó Conchúir.
“Thaispeáin sé do na páistí go bhfuil an Ghaeilge beo agus taitneamhach,” arsa Tomás.

Cleas Act Footage
A crew from a new TG4 entertainment show Cleas Act shot a lot of footage at Gaelscoil Aogáin just before the Christmas 2015 holidays and they said it would be screened early in the new year.

That sounded like a millennium away back then – but the transmission is nearly upon us. The programme will be aired on TG4 on this Sunday night at 8pm.

The College Road based Gaelscoil was the only school in Kerry to be chosen to take part and there was a trip to the RTE studios in Dublin in January all included in the hard work behind the making of the programme.
The school choir has already performed in Thomond Park for the Munster Rugby match in front of 30,000 last year and they also sang with the group Seo Linn on that occasion.

Showcase Talent
“We had to showcase some of our talents in the school like: singing,

brush dance, boxing, interviews and the whole performance consisted of three visits to the school by the crew. They came first in November to get a taste of what we have here and to familiarise themselves with the day to day activities,’ arsa an Priomh Ide, Tomás Ó Conchúir.
“On Wednesday TG4 visited again and this time with the band ‘Seo Linn’ – the band which translated Avicis song ‘Wake Me Up’ into Irish and performed it on the Late Late Show.

Katelyn and Jordan Sparring
“They rehearsed the song ‘Gironimo’ with sixthth class and some of fifth. The other camera went to the Sliabh Luachra Boxing club where reigning All-Ireland champion, Katelyn Ní h’Óráin sparred against Jordan Ó Cofaigh.
“The crew members were extremely impressed with the range of activities in the school and with the standard of singing overall,” said Tomás.
“There is a very exciting atmosphere in the school and the children are really looking forward to Sunday night. Past pupils, Niamh Ní Ghéiní will be a special guest on the programme,” arsa Tomás.
