The streets and roads of Castleisland will be the focus for athletes on this Sunday morning as the fifth annual An Ríocht AC / Lee-Strand sponsored ‘Kingdom Come 10 Mile and 5k Road Race’ will be held here at 11am. Registration will open at An Riocht AC Clubhouse from 9pm.
The event is set to attract a huge road-running participation to the streets of Castleisland again as it is seen as one of the highlights of the year in its category.
There are medals and event souvenirs for all finishers and refreshments will be provided the An Riocht AC clubhouse after the event.

Event Open To All
Race organisers stress that the event is open to all, regardless of ability. It has attracted some top runners in the past and this year will be no different with some of the county and provinces leading athletes marking the date in their calendar of events.
“The main body of participants will be those with their own personal goals, with many taking on either the 5k or 10 miles for the first time. The An Riocht club’s Couch-to-5k athletes who have just completed the winter programme will be taking their places alongside the serious athletes who will be running for the top prizes” said An Riocht manager, Kate McSweeney.

Souvenir Sports Bag
The first 300 finishers in the 10 mile event will receive a souvenir sports bag and all finishers will receive the all important official race medal to start, or indeed add to, their collection.
