Desmonds Junior team had a great victory in the North Kerry Division 4 semi-final on Tuesday night in Duagh.They came up against a gallant Beale team on the night. Desmonds played with a strong breeze to their backs and this resulted in them going into an early lead.

They held this lead all the way through to half time with scores from Marc O’Connor, Tadgh Walsh, Stephen Bartlett and Graham O’Connor. The half time was 1-10 to 0-1.
The second half saw Beale put in a spirited comeback but the men from the Island held on to their lead through the great defending by Gearoid McCarthy, Eamon McLoughlin with the one and only Nelius Lyons leading the charge. They added four more points to the scoreboard for a well deserved victory on the night by 1-14 to 1-06.
Scorers: Marc O’Connor 1-0; Gearoid McCarthy, Joe Kearney, Tadhg Walsh 0-2 each; Micheal Walsh 0-1; Graham O’Connor 0-3 and Stephen Bartlett 0-4. Their next game is on this Friday May 20th in Castleisland where they host Ballydonoghue in the Co.league at 7pm.

Four Islanders on St. Kieran’s Championship Side
Four Desmonds men’s senior players were involved with St.Kierans last weekend in their victory over Feale Rangers By 1:17 to 1:15 in Cordal. Tomás Lynch, Maurice Hickey, Thomas Hickey and Barry Lynch. St. Kieran’s will host Dr.Crokes in Cordal on this Saturday night May 21st at 6:30pm
St. Kieran’s Cycle
St.Kieran’s GAA Club will hold its third Tour of the Parishes Cycle on this coming Sunday morning, May 22nd. Registration takes place in the Desmonds GAA Clubhouse from 8am onwards. Departure is at 10am Sharp.
Club Lotto
The club Lotto is on this Saturday night, May 21st in the Shoemaker’s Bar and the jackpot is at €4800. Tickets can now be bought on line at: www.castleislanddesmonds.kerry.gaa.ie
Congrats to David and Luka
Congratulations to juvenile club members David Shanahan and Luka Brosnan who played with Kerry U-16 team. They played and defeated Tipperary, Roscommon and Mayo. Unfortunately Luka Brosnan broke his wrist on the same day and will be out for five to six weeks.
Well done to Gemma Kearney who was involved with Kerry U-14 team this weekend.
Ladies Club gone Dancing with Muire Gan Smal
The ladies club, in association with Muire Gan Smál Presentation Primary School are staging Strictly Come Dancing on Friday, June 10th. at Castleisland Community Centre there will be full bar facilities on the night.
Tickets are €20 each can be purchased from the school or from Lynch’s Pharmacy.
Brawl in the Hall
A White Collar Boxing event is being hosted by the men’s section on the club.
The Brawl in the Hall will be held on Friday July 8th. in the Castleisland Community Centre. A fight cards of 14 bouts with a live live band and full bar facilities will also be available on the night.
Tickets are €20 each and they will be on sale this weekend at: Lynch’s Pharmacy; Vincent Murphy Sports Shop; Walsh Colour Print, Tralee Road; Tommy Hickey Music Shop; John Brennan Brennan’s Barbers, Upper Main Street and Tom McCarthy’s Bar.
