Liz Galwey sent a note to remind us all that this Friday, June 10th is Hospice Sunflower Day. Collectors will be at various points around Castleisland from 9am to 6pm on the day and your support would be very much appreciated.

Funds for Kerry Hospice Foundation are much needed to assist in the completion of the new patient in-care unit which is currently under construction at Kerry University Hospital.

Funds raised in Kerry will stay in the county and be put to good use here.

On Friday, people will be able to support their local hospice service by purchasing various pieces of Sunflower merchandise including sunflower pins or sunflower seeds for €2 each from collectors on the streets of cities, towns and villages across Ireland.

Hospice Sunflower Day is one of the biggest fundraising events for local hospice services in Ireland. Thousands of volunteers will take to the streets on Friday and Saturday June 10th and 11th to sell sunflower merchandise in a bid to raise €1 million for hospice services.

The IHF coordinates the event on behalf of the hospice movement but all of the funds raised locally, stay locally.

So keep an eye out for Sunflower collectors around the county and in Castleisland on Friday from 9am to 6pm. And please give as generously as you can!
