Cordal GAA Club Lotto – The Biggest in Club History

Cordal GAA Club’s June Lotto has a massive jackpot of €7,000. It’s the largest in the history of the fundraiser in the club to date.

Cordal V Knocknagoshel – County League

Cordal played against Knocknagoshel in a County League match on Friday, June 3rd at 7:45pm in Cordal. Weather conditions were superb for the game.

The match kicked off with a point for Knocknagoshel scored by Michael Brosnan and this was followed up by a point from his teammate Michael Walsh in the second minute.

Cordal then took control of the field with Jason Cronin making good use of the ball scoring two points in the fifth and sixth minute of the first half.

Cordal were knocked back when James Walsh scored a goal for Knocknagoshel in the sixth minute and they added insult to injury with a point again by James Walsh minutes later.

Knocknaghoshel lost control of the ball with a wide letting Cordal take control of the field for the rest of the first half.

Their momentum took hold with a point in the 14th minute by Philip O’Connor and he increased the score again only minutes later with another point for the Cordal team.

Michael Flynn went on to boot another point for Cordal in the 26th minute and two minutes later Sean O’Ciardubhain scored a point from a free for Cordal. Philip O’Connor finished up the first half with a point in the 30th minute for Cordal leaving the scores at 0-07 for Cordal to Knocknagoshel’s 1-03.

The second half got underway with Knocknagoshel on the rebound after James Walsh scored two points in the first and third minutes. Cordal hit back with Padraig O’Connell hammering in a point for Cordal in the fourth minute and Kieran O’Donoghue made haste adding another score for the Cordal boys in the fifth minute.

Knocknagoshel’s James Walsh narrowed the gap once again with a point from a free in the 16th minute. Two more Cordal players made their mark on the scoresheet with Donal McCarthy booting a nice point in the 20th minute and Pa Naughton going for gold again in the 22nd minute. Knocknagoshel’s James Walsh spent the next ten minutes trying to save Knocknagoshel from defeat clocking up another three points for his team but his efforts were in vain with Cordal holding their lead to the end and with a crucial save in the last few minutes by Sean Óg Ó Ciardubháin.

The ref blew the whistle for a triumphant Cordal win. The final score left Knocknagoshel a point down with 1-11 to Cordal’s impressive final score of 0-15. Well done to the Cordal boys you fought hard and were victorious.
