Following a very successful gathering on Maher’s side of Kilbannivane Cemetery on Tuesday of last week, members of Castleisland Graveyard Committee have arranged to continue with the work on Pembroke’s side on this Tuesday evening, June 28th at 7pm.

The working group was surprised at the amount of litter scattered around the graveyard. The heap of bags filled and left over the road-side wall for collection stood as testament to that.

The group will meet again on Thursday June 30th at 7pm to conduct a final clean-up prior to the annual cemetery mass on Monday, July 4th.

All proceeds from this mass will go into a fund for maintenance of the graveyards. Volunteers are encouraged to come along on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm as there is still a lot of work to be done.

Enquiries can be made to committee chairman, Jack Shanahan on: 087 81 22 668.
