The Irish language group ‘Cúpla Focal agus Cupán Tae’ has just started its winter classes and will meet every Tuesday night, at An Ríocht AC from 7-30pm to 9pm. It’s a social occasion, with people in small groups discussing various topics. At around 8.30 there’s a break for an cupán tae.
The rules are very simple, the class finishes at 9pm and there’s no pressure on anybody to talk and no corrections. You simply use the cúpla focal you have and build on it.
Gan dabht, táimid bródúil as ár dteanga féin, teanga oifigiúil an Aontais Eorpaigh, teanga a bhfuil ag éirí níos tábhachtaí in aghaidh an lae agus teanga a bhfuil le cloisteáil níos minice ná riamh. Tá ag éirí go hiontach le Raidió na Gaeltachta agus le TG4 agus don fhoghlaimeoir tá áiseanna nua-aimsearatha ann. Tá borradh tagtha faoi ocáidí agus foghlaim na Gaeilge ní amháin in Éirinn ach ar fud an domhain mhóir.
Tagann an grúpa ‘Cúpla Focal agus Cupán Tae’ le chéile gach oíche Dé Máirt in Ionad Spóirt na Ríochta in Oileán Chiarraí idir 7.30 go 9.00 i.n.
Mar a deireann an seanfhocal “Ní hualach do dhuine an fhoghlaim”.
