Artistic Date Pencilled In for O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival

The Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival is delighted to announce that the supremely talented artist Finn Harper will be attending this year’s festival in Castleisland.

Originally from County Wexford but living in Limerick for the past nine years, Finn Harper is a young accomplished Irish musician with a BA in Irish Music and is a self-taught artist in his own right.

In 2015 during a short music residency in Florida, USA, Finn tried his hand at a few portraits of Irish musicians that have inspired and influenced him over the years and hasn’t looked back since.

Some of his works include Matt Molloy of the Chieftains, the legendary banjo player Mike Flanagan, and Andy Irvine once of Planxty .

After moving back to Limerick in February, he has gained a hugh following in Ireland and across the world with his individual style of realistic high contrast pencil artwork.

Finn will be exhibiting his work at the River Island Hotel over the weekend, and will also be holding a workshop where he will demonstrate and explain his drawing methods.

Any and all aspiring pencil artists, or indeed anyone with an interest in drawing are invited to attend.

Times and dates will be confirmed in due course in the official events programme.

The Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival will be held in Castleisland, Co. Kerry from Friday, October 28th to Monday, October 31st inclusive.
