Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club had a stand on Friday evening at the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town Expo in Castleisland Community Centre.

The club wishes to thanks all the officers who helped in any small way in regard to the evening’s events and to the public who visited the stand.

Minor Team Defeat to Ballymac

Desmonds Minor team were defeated by Ballymac by 4:14 to 1:08 in the semi-final of the Central Region competition in Ballymac last Sunday morning.

This weekend the team travel to St. Senan’s in Mountcoal where they play Beale in the first round of the North Kerry Minor Championship. The throw in at 2pm.

Club Sympathy to Hanifin, Casey and Reidy Families

The club wishes to pass on their deepest sympathies to the Hanifin family on the passing of Mrs. Mary Hanifin. The family has a long and proud association with the Desmonds GAA Club.

The club members also wish to pass on their sympathies to the Reidy family on the passing of Catherine Reidy, Dulague and to club officer, Connie Horan on the passing of his mother in law, Mrs.Casey in Scartaglin. May they Rest in Peace.

No Lotto Jackpot Winner

There was no winner of the €2,200 Desmonds club lotto which was held on Saturday night in the Half Barrel.

The numbers drawn were : 7,9,27,28. Lucky dip winners €30 to Tom O’Sullivan, Laccabawn and €20 each to: Denis Griffin, Currow; Oliver Daly, Church Street, Castleisland; Niamh Hanifin and Jack Breen, Cahernard. Next draw takes place on Saturday, November 19th for a €2,300 jackpot. The venue is to be confirmed.
