Coach Conor Brosnan
Head coach Conor Brosnan gives us a run down on the return of big game time to Castleisland.
“After winning the Senior Ladies Kerry County League Division 1 and Kerry Cup Double last year and we decided to enter the national competition this year.
“This is only the second year of this competition as Basketball Ireland Area Board teams are all vying for their place in the National Basketball Arena on Cup Final weekend.
“And we hope to be competing for silverware come end of January. It’s a straight knockout competition.
Hope for Support
“The winner has a home quarter final tie against either Killarney Cougars or Tolka Rovers in December.
“We hope to get support from everyone. We’ve gone around to all the local schools and giving every child a leaflet to try help promote it as well as place posters throughout the town in business’s.
“This is the highest level playing ladies team in the county this year as there is no national league team.
“We’ve a great blend of youth and experience which should stand to us and we started training back in August in preparation for this,” said Conor.
