Denis Brosnan and Kate McSweeney of An Riocht AC have issued a joint, annual and festive invitation to leisure walkers and joggers to join them on Christmas Morning for the‘Christmas Day Charity Mile’ from 10-30am to 12-30pm.

Walking, jogging or running is all fine and within the rules of the special occasion – which has been going on here since 1999.

Drop in Your Donation

In recent years, simply dropping in and saying Hello or Happy Christmas has also been encouraged – once you drop something in the collection box. Getting out, making the effort and a donation is what’s important on this occasion.

Goal’s humanitarian work in war ravaged Allepo in Syria has been added to local charities: Oileán Beo/St. John of God and Glebe Lodge Residential Centre will be the beneficiaries of the event.

Seasonal Refreshments

Highly spirited and seasonal refreshments will be served after you do your stint on the track.

Even if the weather is against outdoor activity, the gathering in the spacious pavilion will only heighten the seasonal atmosphere. The spirit of giving and helping others is what the whole show is about.
