Breaking Trad Concert

Irish Trad band Breaking Trad will play at the new music venue Mike the Pies in William Street, Listowel on Thursday, February 2nd. Doors 8pm. Admission. €15. Tickets contact 087 92 55 230.

Breaking Trad feature Abbeyfeale accordionist Donal Murphy, Niall Murphy on fiddle and Mike Galvin on guitar and vocals. The band is kicking off its 2017 tour at the fabulous Listowel venue. A great night not to be missed!

A meeting of the local Pastoral Area will take place this Wednesday , January 18  @ 7.30pm in St Ita’s Hall.

Community Council – Played a Blinder

Chairman of Abbeyfeale Community Council Maurice O’Connell, secretary Trevor McCarthy and Tidy Towns sub committee chairman Kevin Kennelly recently played a blinder and applied for and received over €70,000 in grants from Limerick County and City Council for projects in the community.

Drama At The Glórach

John B Keane’s play The Highest House on the Mountain continues its very successful run at the Glórach Theatre this coming Friday, January 20, Saturday and Sunday. Curtains up at 8pm and tickets for this in-house production can be booked at 087 13 83 940.  The word around town is that it is a play not to be missed.

St. Mary’s Boys N.S. Fundraiser

St. Mary’s Boys’ School are having a clothes collection during the month of January. Bags of unwanted clothes can be dropped into the school during school hours. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

A Date For The Diary

Abbeyfeale Drama Group members are  rehearsing at present for their production of Michael J Ginnelly play A Wake in the West which will be begin its run at Fr. Casey’s on St. Valentine Night and continue through February on 16,18,19,21,23,25 and finishing up on Sunday, February 26.  Other upcoming events include a Mock Wedding at the Railway Bar on March 10 and the Bank of Ireland Expo on Friday, March 3rd. and Saturday, March 4th.

 News From the Adult Education Centre

A new Level 5 Childcare Course is starting Jan 2017.   Art Classes starting on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Computer Classes starting on Wednesday morning.  Contact 068 31198.

Social Dancing Classes At The Railway

Social dance classes have resumed at the Railway Bar on Tuesdays, beginners class at 8,30pm and advanced from 9.30pm to 11pm. New people are always welcome.

Benny Thade’s Rambling House

This will be a fundraiser for St. Ita’s Hospital and will take place at Fr. Casey’s Clubhouse on Thursday, January 19 with doors open at 8pm.

Limerick Toastmasters

Abbeyfeale Parent & Toddler Group meet every Tuesday & Thursday morning from 11am to 12:30pm in St. Ita’s Hall, Abbeyfeale. West Limerick singing club monthly singing session take place on the first Friday of every month in the Ramble Inn Bar, Abbeyfeale.

 New Toastmaster Club In Listowel
