The AGM of the Castleisland branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation will take place on this Monday evening, January 23rd. at 6.45pm in the River Island Hotel.
New members are welcome to attend. The branch would like to thank all who contributed to the recent church gate collection from which €2,424.00 was raised for the foundation.
The Kerry Hospice Foundation (KHF) was established in 1990 as a voluntary organisation. The Kerry Home Care Team was founded by the KHF in conjunction with the Southern Health Board and with some funding from the Irish Cancer Society.
The Foundation funds a wide range of palliative care services in Kerry. These include counselling services (e.g. bereavement) and alternative therapies, such as reflexology, aromatherapy, reikii.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Kerry Hospice Foundation in partnership with the HSE, is to provide palliative care and support patients who are living with an advancing illness in Kerry.
Care is provided when and where the patient needs it. It is provided by the specialist Palliative Care team, which is based in the Palliative Care Unit, Suimhneas Centre attached to University Hospital Kerry. The team works in partnership with the community and hospital-based teams.
