Three Desmonds Players on Kerry National League Team

This Sunday, February 5th. will see the Kerry senior ladies team host Dublin in round two of the Ladies National Football League at Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club grounds at 2pm.

We would love to see a large crowd there on the afternoon and to show your support for the three girls from Desmonds who are involved with the team, Lorraine Scanlon, Eilish Lynch and Andrea Murphy.

Well Done Paris and Jessie

Well done to Paris McCarthy and Jessie Cahill who were involved with the Kerry U-14 girls against Tipperary last weekend.

Senior Men Draw Spa

The Men’s Senior team have drawn Spa of Killarney in round 1 of this years 2017 Castleisland Co-op County Intermediate Championship. This game is to be played away in Killarney on the weekend of the 15th/16th of April.

Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club wishes to congratulate Glenbeigh-Glencar on their victory in the All Ireland Junior Club semi-final. They now go on to face Tyrone side, Rock St. Patrick’s in the AIB GAA All Ireland Junior Club Football  Championship Final on Sunday February 19th at 2pm in Croke Park.

We play them in round two of this year’s Division 1 Co. League on March 26th at home here in Castleisland.

Boys’ Coiste na nOg AGM

The Boys’ Coiste na nOg AGM was held last Monday night in the River Island Hotel and the coaches and mentors for this sector of the club were appointed for the coming season.

The following officers were elected on the night. Chairman : Tommy Roche; Secretary: Angela Ring O’Donoghue; Treasurer: Denny Lyons; P.R.O.: Gerard Murphy; Co.Board Delegate: Denny Lyons; District Board Delegate: Connie Horan; Child Protection Officer: Eamon O’Sullivan; Coaching Officer: Willie Dom O’Connor.

U-14s and U-16s Back in Harness

The U-14 and U-16 boys’ teams are back training for the coming season and are having great crowds in attendance which is great to see.

The U-16 boys under new the management of Edmund Hartnett, Colm O’Shea, Sean Lynch and Cian O’Connor. The U-14 boys management team is made up of: Tommy Roche, Marc O’Connor, Steve Curtin and James O’Connell.

Congrats to Adam

The club wishes to congratulate Adam O’Donoghue who was selected for the U-17 Kerry Soccer squad for the 2017 season.

Coiste at the Church Gate

This coming weekend see the Castleisland District Coiste na nOg church gate collection take place in Castleisland.

It would be greatly appreciate in we could have club members there at the mass on Saturday and Sunday. Thanks also to all the Desmonds members who kindly helped with the church gate last weekend for St.Kierans GAA Club.

The boys’ Coiste na nOg management wish to thank everyone who attended the registration day on Sunday last in the clubhouse. Thanks also to the club officers and mentors who helped on the day. Anyone unable to attend on registration day can still pick up forms from Jeremy Burke at Tomo Burke Electrical.

Congrats to Desmonds U-16 Ladies

Congratulations to all the Desmonds Ladies that were on the Castleisland LadiesU-16 Community Games team that won the Kerry County Final last weekend. The team will now advance to the Munster finals on April 2nd.
