€2,600 Desmonds Lotto at Fagin’s

Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club Lotto takes place on this Saturday night, February 18th in Fagin’s / Hartnett’s Bar where the jackpot of €2,600 will be up for grabs.

Tickets at €2 or three for €5. As they all say now: ‘If You’re Not in You Can’t Win.’

Desmonds Seniors Start Season in Listowel

This coming Sunday February 19th the Desmonds senior men’s team start their 2017 season when they travel to play Listowel Emmet’s in round 1 of the North Kerry league. Throw in at 1:30pm in Listowel.

We wish our new management team all the best for the year. The team members are:  Mark Burke and Domo Lyne, Thomas Hickey, team captain with vice captains: Kieran Brennan and Maurice O’Connell.

New Management for Minors

This year’s minor team have new management for the 2017 season in Tommy Dom O’Connor, Neilus Lyons, John Brennan, Niall O’Connor, and Tommy Horan all of these 5 men bring a wealth of experience and knowledge  and this shall be very helpful in regard to working with a very good and promising group of Minors.

Good luck to Lorraine, Eilish and Andrea and Kerry Ladies

Best wishes to our Desmonds Ladies  players Lorraine Scanlon, Eilish Lynch and Andrea Murphy who are involved with the Kerry senior ladies  when they take on Donegal this Sunday February 19th. in Rathmore at 1pm  in Round 3 of the National League

 Knock/Brosna/Duagh U-16s too strong for Desmonds

The U-16 team travelled to play their first competitive game of the season under the new management of Edmund Hartnett, Colm O’Shea, Sean Lynch and Cian O’Connor. They played Knock/Brosna/Duagh in round 1 of the Castleisland District League in Knocknagoshel on Saturday.

Desmond’s had only 16 player’s to choose from for this game. Playing against a strong wind in the first half the concession of three goals just before half time saw the visitors go in at the break trailing by 3-6 to 0-2.

Despite the scoreline, a more spirited Desmonds cut the lead down to just three points with ten minutes left in the game. However, they couldn’t make up the difference and lost out on the score of 3-10 to 1-10.

The management wishes to thank all the players and supporters who turned up on the day. The U-16s play Ballymacelligott in round 2 of the Castleisland District league this Sunday February 19th at 12noon here in Castleisland.
