Public Response Sought for Local Area Plan

Owen O’Shea, Kerry County Council spokesman is urging a response to the search for suggestions and ideas from people living in the Killarney Municipal District.

Kerry County Council is preparing the Draft Killarney Municipal District Local Area Plan (LAP) for the entire municipal area which includes Castleisland and many of the surrounding areas in the Maine Valley.
According to Kerry County Council spokesman, Owen O’Shea, ‘The Plan’ will prioritise actions and projects that will contribute to and facilitate the sustainable development and economic growth of the Municipal District in the interest of the common good and local residents.

Online Survey
“In order to do this the Planning Department of Kerry County Council is undertaking an online survey.
“The purpose of this survey is to gain a better understanding of the public’s perspectives and opinions in relation to all areas within the Killarney Municipal District.

“This information will feed back into the drafting of the plan and is an informal consultation process designed to hear suggestions and ideas from people living in the District.

Survey Open to March 3rd
“The survey is open until Friday, 3 March 2017. Please keep an eye on www.kerrycoco.ie and local media for information regarding the formal consultation process which will follow in the coming months,” said Mr. O’Shea.
