The sincere sympathies of the community in Castleisland, its hinterland and beyond are with the Brosnan family of Cahernard, Castleisland this weekend at the news of the death of their son and brother Donncha Brosnan. 

Well known in athletics, Gaelic Football and boxing circles, Donncha (52) passed away after a short illness at University Hospital Galway in his adopted city on St. Patrick’s Day.

The sympathies of the community to his parents, Denis and Catherine and to his siblings and to his family in Galway. May God be good to him.

Announcement and Funeral Arrangements

The death has occurred of Denis ‘Donncha’ Brosnan, Rahoon, Galway and formerly Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Peacefully, at University Hospital Galway surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved son of Denis and Catherine Brosnan, Cahernard, Castleisland and much loved father of Brian, Denis, Michelle, Michael and Saoirse and loving partner of Josephine. Brother of Ciara, Niamh, Seamus, Ailis and Fergal.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his family, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway on Tuesday, March 21st from 6pm. to 8pm.

Removal on Wednesday, March 22nd to St. Nicholas Collegiate Church, Lombard Street, Galway to arrive for Service at 1pm.

Funeral afterwards to Rahoon Cemetery. Family flowers only. May He Rest In Peace.
