They were defeated by the home side on a score of 0-10 to 0-7.

This game was dictated by the weather conditions on the day when the home side opted to play with a very strong wind to their backs in the first half.

This resulted in them going into an early lead through points from Cathal Moriarty and Jerome Flynn.

Desmond’s Thomas Hickey opened the scoring for the visitors in the 12th minute with a free and he added two more points to see his side go in at half time trailing by 0-8 to 0- 3.

In the second half Desmonds pressed hard as they were now playing with the strong wind and we saw them score from play with Thomas Hickey scoring from a free in the eighth minute.

Desmonds goalkeeper Steven Bartlett was called into action when he saved penalty from Cathal Moriarty in 13th minute.

It looked like lady luck was going to shine on the visitors then. However, hard as they tried with scores from brothers, Thomas and Maurice Hickey we were to see Milltown/Castlemaine tag on two more points.
