The National Children’s Literary Festival is incorporated in Listowel Writers’ Week. This year there’s an imagination tickling programme of events for children and it’s bursting out in various venues throughout the town.

Half tired from packing the programme with all the events and from trying to get the lid on it all, Chairperson, Liz Dunn wrote a few words of introduction and then a few more of welcome:

“From the adorable Nicola Colton cover illustrations to the acknowledgements on its final pages, this programme is jam packed full of vibrancy and excitement.

“The fabulous line-up of varied and stimulating events reflects the enthusiasm and committment of the National Children’s Literary Festival Committee and its advisor, Sarah Webb to bring a stellar collection of events and guests to Listowel Writers’ Week 2017.

Thursday to Sunday

“There really is ‘something for everyone’ contained herein and the events from Thursday to Sunday give not only book loving children, but their families, opportunities to meet literary heroes first hand and revel in all sorts of literary activities.

“How I wish I had a time machine so that I could, personally, attend every event.

“Browse, book early and enjoy,” – Liz Dunn – Chairperson.
