Congrats to Locals on Kerry U-17 Team

Congratulations to Desmond’s Luka Brosnan and David Shanahan who were involved with the successful Kerry U-17 team which won the Munster final in Tralee on Tuesday evening by defeating Cork 0-15 to 0-10.

Seán O’Connell of Cordal captained the team and Eddie Horan of Scartaglin played at centre back Brian Lonergan of Ballymac was sub goalkeeper on the team and Shay Walsh also of Scartaglin was on the extended panel for the game.

It was great to see Seán Horan of Scartaglin involved in the celebrations as he is currently recovering from injury.

Best Wishes to St. Kieran’s

Best wishes to all of the Desmonds GAA Club players that are involved with St.Kieran’s this Saturday evening when they take on Austin Stacks in the replay of the round 1 game. Best wishes to Scartaglin GAA Club which is hosting this game. Throw in for this game is at 6:30pm.

The Fountain Bar for Desmonds Lotto Draw

The Desmond’s Club Lotto takes place this Saturday night May 20th  in the Fountain Bar. Tickets on sale at €2 or 3 for €5. Club members will be selling tickets on Saturday evening prior to the draw.

U-12 Girls Win County Shield

Congratulations to the Girls U-12 team that defeated Listowel in the Division 1 County Shield in Listowel.

The winning trophy was presented to the girls by the Kerry Senior Ladies manager Graham Shine who was very impressed with the standard of football by both teams.

The Desmond’s team mentors Sandra O’Connor and Mike Herlihy made changes at half time in the game and this made a huge difference and turned the game in Desmonds favour.

Kerrie Costello scored three goals that sealed the result but there was some outstanding team work to ensure the victory on the night, well done to all of the girls and to the large crowd that attended the game on Wednesday.

U-16 Girls in Shield Decider

The U- 16 Desmonds girls are playing this coming Monday, May 22nd. in Fossa at 7pm. They play Fossa in the Kerry Ladies Division 2 Co.League Final

In fact, this team is contesting its fifth final over the last few years so we wish them all the best on the evening.

U-14 Boys Prevail in Play-off

Well done to all of the U-14 boys team that defeated Listowel Emmets by 3-15 to 5-06 in the county play-off game in Knocknagoshel on Wednesday evening.

They now play Keel/Listry in the Semifinal on Monday, May 22nd in Listry with a throw-in time of 7pm

First Outing for U-12 Boys

The boys U-12 team play their first game in the phase of the county league when they travel to play Gneeveguilla on this Sunday May 21st. Throw in is set for 6pm.

U-6 and U-8 Training at The Field

The U-6 and U-8 Boys have training as usual on this Friday evening in the field. The U-6 and U-8 girls have resumed training at the Desmonds pitch and their sessions are held on Monday evenings at 6:30pm.

U-10 Girls V Ballymac

The U-10 girls play Ballymacelligott this coming Monday, May 22nd. at the Desmond’s pitch. Throw in for this game is for 7pm.

Strictly Come Dancing Reminder

A gentle reminder that the Desmond’s Ladies Club in association with Muire Gan Smál Primary School are hosing their Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, June 3rd of the Bank Holiday weekend in Castleisland Community Centre.  Contact-banner
