Sandra Keane Blitz at John Mitchel’s

Our U-13 girls team participated in the well organised Sandra Keane Blitz held in John Mitchels on Saturday last.

Our first game saw us take on Beaufort where the opposition started the better and led by five points at the break.

Early in the second half we were on level terms with two goals.Unfortunately for us Beaufort struck for a brace of goals themselves midway through the half which ensured victory for them.

Town Team Had Wind Advantage

Our second game saw us pitted against Kerins O Rahillys where the town team with wind advantage in the first half led at half time on a 1-2 to 0-0 scoreline. Our girls slotted four points in the second half but couldn’t find the extra scores to draw or win.

We then faced Firies in the plate semi final where we were sluggish in the opening half which saw us three points down at the break.

Firies Finished Stronger

However an improvement in our play saw us draw level midway through the half. Firies finished the stronger and added three points before the final whistle to end our interest in the competition. Well done to all our girls who did their best for the club on the day.
