All members of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association throughout the area, and the county in general, are asked to take note of Sunday, October 1st.

On that day a special gathering and Spirituality Day is being held in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick. It’s an all Munster get together.

Rekindling the Flame

“The theme of the day will be Rekindling The Pioneer Flame,” said Tom Horan – a steadfast keeper of the flame down through the years in the Castleisland area.

“A full programme for the day has been arranged, starting at 10.30am with tea and coffee, opening address and discussions. Lunch is at 1.30pm. To end the day mass will be celebrated by Mon. Rev. Brendan Leahy, Bishop of Limerick.

Administrative Duties

“The two most important topics to be discussed are the Jesuits who founded the association one hundred and nineteen years ago. They are handing over the administrative duties to the lay members and the future of the pioneer movement in today’s world,” Mr. Horan concluded.

Admission to this event is by ticket only and they are available from: Tom Horan, Tel: 066 71 41289 or Jimmy Shanahan, Tel: 066 71 41434.
