There was a rapid political response to the news at the weekend that Currow Village had been allocated a sizable sum of money for the upgrading of flood alleviation works on the River Flesk in the vicinity of the village.
Danny and Maura Thank Minister Moran
Danny Healy Rae TD and Cllr. Maura Healy Rae welcomed funding of €77,400 from the Dept. of Flooding for very urgent and necessary works to the embankments at the Brown Flesk in Currow, adjacent to the village to prevent future flooding.
In an email, the father and daughter team wished to thank Minister Kevin Moran and Kerry County Council for their work in providing this funding.
Welcome from Cllr. O’Connell
Right on their heels and by text, Cllr. Bobby O’Connell also welcomed the good news for Currow Village:
“I welcome the news of the granting of €77,406 which has been allocated to construct an upgraded flood prevention embankment and associated works at Currow by the Office of public Works,” said Cllr. O’Connell.
