Castleisland Community College Student Council members and teachers were delighted to learn earlier this week that they had been awarded the Amber Flag for promoting positive mental health in their school.

Promotion of Positive Mental Health

The Amber Flag initiative aims to encourage schools and colleges, clubs, societies and organisations to promote and actively bring about a culture change in the promotion of positive mental health within their environments.

Castleisland Community College earned its Amber Flag by establishing a Mental Health Awareness Daisy Room.

Walk in My Shoes Initiative

Students and teachers also held a Wellbeing Week in the school and also took part in the Walk in My Shoes initiative.

They also ran a number of poster competitions as well as a Stay Safe Online programme.
