Chamber Remembrance Day for Con on September 30th

The annual remembrance day for Con Houlihan takes place in Castleisland on Saturday September 30th.

This year sees the launch of the Con Houlihan Trail by Castleisland Chamber Alliance. The trail consists of a short tour of Castleisland town taking in some of Con’s favourite places in the area. Fifteen plaques will be unveiled on the day highlighting some of Con’s most memorable quotes and giving snippets of information about Con himself.

The Con Houlihan Trail has come to fruition with the support of Kerry County Council’s Community Support Fund.

The running order for the day is as follows:

Saturday September 30th at the River Island Hotel, Castleisland.

11.30am Light Refreshments.

11.45am Welcome address.

11.50am Presentation of awards for the Con Houlihan Creative Writing Competition Sponsored by Con Houlihan Remembrance Committee.

12 noon Panel Discussion on The Life of Con.

12.45pm Guided Tour of The Con Houlihan Trail.

The Con Houlihan Remembrance Day Committee under the chairmanship of Donal Murphy will host a Free (ticket only) concert featuring local artists and the Parish Choir at the Ivy Leaf Arts Theatre at 4.30pm.

Castleisland Rugby Club will host a Munster General League Game between Castleisland and Crosshaven at the Castleisland Rugby Pitch at 6pm.

BBQ at Castleisland Rugby Club at 6.30pm – Tickets €10.
