Knocknagoshel was the venue for this year’s Castleisland District Blitz on Saturday.

In the group games Currow U10s were defeated by Scartaglin in their first game.
In their second game Currow beat Knocknagoshel by three points which meant Currow were into the B final where their opponents were Scartaglin.
In a very exciting final Currow proved to have the upper hand on their opponents and won the final on a score line of Currow 2-4 to Scartaglin’s 1-1.
The District B plaque was presented to Currow captain Ruairi Brosnan by Castleisland District Board Chairman Richard Cotter.
Well done to the team and their trainers Noel Crowley, Con Enright and Ted Clifford for training the team during the year.
Fossa Too Strong for Currow U-16s
U-16s: On Sunday, October 8th Currow played host to Fossa in the East Kerry Championship.
Fossa proved to be too strong for Currow on the day and won the game on a score line of Currow 2-08 to Fossa’s 2-19. They will now be in the Division 4 final against Spa, Killarney with a date and time to be confirmed.
High Scoring U-14s
U-14s: Scartaglin was the venue on last Sunday to Currow U-14s East Kerry Championship final against Glenflesk.
Glenflesk lead at half time 4-8 to Currow’s 2-7. But in the second half a determined Currow side brought the game back to just two points but it wasn’t enough for them to overcome this very good Glenflesk team.
The game ended on a final score of Glenflesk 5-15 to Currow’s 4-16.
Next game for our U-14 team will be against John Mitchels in the Castleisland District League B final on Sunday, October 15th at 1:30pm with a venue not decided on yet.
U-12s Defeat Listry
U-12s: Currow U-12 team welcomed Listry on Sunday, October 8th in an East Kerry League match. In a good sporting game Currow proved to have too much for the visitors on the day and won on a final score of Currow 4-21 to Listry’s 4-10.
Their next game will take place on Sunday, October 15th when they will travel to Scartaglin to play the home side. Throw in is at 12 noon.
Final Training Session for U-6 and U-8 Teams
U-6s and U-8s: Training continues this coming Saturday morning 14th October at 10am. This training session will be the last of the season for these teams.
