Friday 13th may be unlucky for some but not for the personnel of Tralee Credit Union who will record the date as reaching a significant milestone in their history.

On Friday, at a gala luncheon in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel in Dublin the 2017 Credit Union Team of the Year Awards, Tralee Credit Union won in the categories of: Financial Services Team of the Year and Credit Union Credit Team of the Year.

Later that evening the team was nominated as Corporate Social Responsibility Finalist at The Kerryman Business Awards in Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa in Tralee.

Granting Credit Responsibly

Credit teams are charged with granting credit responsibly and ensuring the timely collection of all money due.

This can be a difficult task and the people who make it happen seldom get the recognition they deserve.

Tralee Credit Union’s recently appointed CEO, Pa Laide said that Tralee Credit Union was privileged and delighted to be shortlisted and acknowledged at both award ceremonies on Friday.

A Significant Achievement

“To win the Financial Services Team of the Year and Credit Union, Credit Team of the Year at the National Credit Team Awards in Dublin amongst our peers in the financial services industry is a significant achievement for Tralee Credit Union.

“It’s timely we have just completed our year end with tremendous success. Results like these don’t just happen they are a result of hard work and dedication from the board, management and staff and loyalty and trust of members.

Strong Community Links

“We had a great night celebrating our success at The Kerryman Business Awards later that evening and were delighted to be a finalist in their awards category. It’s a category we are very proud to be associated with and acknowledged for the strong links we have with our members and local community and it was great to celebrate our awards locally on the night,” said Mr. Laide.
