A Tralee woman has taken her first step to becoming a self-published author.

This Friday, November 24th., Audrey Reidy’s first novel, Hysteria will become available on Amazon to purchase in digital format and in paperback.

Creative Writing

Audrey is a graduate of IT Tralee, recently obtaining a BA in Creative Writing. Though this is her first novel, Audrey has been writing for many years, working in a number of areas in the media.

An Ambition

“Publishing a novel has been an ambition of mine for a long time,” said Audrey.

Hysteria is a contemporary love story set in Boston. Fast paced, the novel’s style dramatises the unpredictable course of love.

About the Book:

A terrible thing can determine the rest of our lives.

Clara once believed in the possibility of a better life, new home, new friends, the chance to start again.

But she is careless with her heart, letting the actions of others influence her path.

She is headed for ruin.

And a pre-disposition for disaster could jeopardise her future.

A Scarring Divorce

Having overcome a scarring divorce, Maria is a self-ordained pragmatist.

That is until a broken and reset man finds his way to her ward, smashing all preconceived notions of what it truly means to be in love.

Michael has lived two lives.

The first doused in illegality and intimidation, ended when the ambulance arrived.

Fragments Worth Saving

With Maria’s help, he tries to recover the few fragments worth saving, risking the current iteration in the process.

Hysteria is a dramatic retelling of how our lives criss-cross—one may remember the trail but forget the lessons learned.

But after all, is that not the risk of falling in love?
