U-18 Boys Division 1 St. Mary’s V KCYMS in Castleisland Community Centre.

St. Mary’s U-18 boys started strong and took a 13 points to four lead early on but this was short lived as Killorglin side KCYMS regrouped during a timeout and came out focused and on track denying the home side any opportunity to score for the remainder of the quarter.

KCYMS led 20 points going into the second quarter. St. Mary’s missed some key players but they continued to fight back.

A three from Adam Donoghue and another from Adam Manly narrowed the gap but KCYMS were unstoppable.

The Castleisland side picked up fouls early in the quarter and by half time Killorglin were ahead 42 points to 24.

The home side made some good scores in the third quarter but KCYMS continued to increase their lead as the game progressed.

The visitors led 67 to 38 going into the final ten minutes. Killorglin continued to impress, hitting their target time after time.

David McCarthy was in fine shooting form throughout the game for Killorglin as was Eoin O’Sullivan who made major contributions both scoring and assisting.

At this stage KCYMS were too strong and too far ahead for St. Mary’s to come back and the visitors took the win 83 points to 49.

Top scorers: St. Mary’s Danny Hickey 11 and Adam Manley 10. KCYMS: David McCarthy 19, Eoin O’Sullivan 17.
