The Dick Fitzgerald Golf Cup presentation took place in the Woodlands House Hotel and Spa in Adare recently.
There was a large gathering present including members of Castleisland Golf Club and the Fitzgerald family were all present for the ceremony.
Beloved Castleisland
Mary Fitzgerald welcomed everyone present and she thanked the Castleisland club members for keeping Dick Fitzgerald’s name alive in his beloved Castleisland – where he grew up.
Club captain, Jonathan Kelliher, in his response, thanked the Fitzgerald family for sponsoring the tournament in memory of Dick and stated that it was a great financial boost to the club.
Over 30 teams participated in 2017 and the club is hopeful that this competition will grow even further.

The competition caters for ladies and gents. A team of four cost €100 and the format is a fourball and two singles with all scores to count.
Next year the competition will be held on Saturday, May 19th.
