On their metaphorical way to the Mickey Harte Concert at the River Island Hotel on this Saturday night, The Mad Ones threw out a bit of a fun challenge in the form of a Windows District League.

Online Poll

A ‘Best Dressed Window’ kind of competition and the winner was chosen by way of an online poll. There were over 6,000 votes cast in the one-vote-per-person poll and Lynch’s Pharmacy emerged winners by close of voting on Wednesday evening.

Five Concert Tickets

The Mad Ones visited Lynch’s Pharmacy on Thursday evening to formally present the 2017 Windows District League Trophy to Aileen Lynch, proprietor. The prize also came with five tickets to The Mad Ones promoted Mickey Joe Harte Concert at the River Island Hotel on this Saturday night, December 16th at 9pm.

Explaining what they’re at these days The Mad Ones feel that the competition and the concert combine as a fantastic way to wind down 2017:

Bringing the Best

“It’s been a year where we’ve transformed what we do and we’re really enjoying bringing the best in Irish music to Castleisland.

“Bringing Mickey Joe down here is a fantastic way to finish 2017 and he will arrive in Castleisland on Saturday to play Christmas with the Mad Ones at the River Island Hotel.

Mickey Joe Harte has been a mainstay of the Irish roots and popular music scene for more than 15 years.

Top 20 Hits

“He has multiple Platinum records to his credit including No.1s and many Top 20 hits on the Irish charts.

“Back in 2003 he represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest with We’ve Got the World and placed 11th and reached No.1 on the Irish Singles Chart.

“The single releases of Come Gather All and Bring it On, Bring it On exhibit two recent writing collaborations with internationally acclaimed Irish songwriter Paul Brady.

“Mickey is currently recording new material in Germany with producer Dieter Kirchenbauer, which consist of mainly original songs including audience favourites Fire in my Heart  and an interpretation of Luka Bloom’s contemporary Irish folk song City of Chicago.

Hot Press Track

His latest single For the Broken Hearted went to number one in the Irish iTunes country music charts just a few weeks ago and was featured as a Hot Press track of the day.

“Mickey Joe will be followed by a DJ on Saturday night so expect lots of dancing and lots of craic. “Already we are planning events for next year with SuperCeilí Beó the first one on the list on January 6th.
