TV3’s Simon Delaney is set to return to Listowel at the end of January to host a pop up supper in Lizzy’s Little Kitchen showcasing dishes from his cookbook, Simply Simon’s – The Diner Cookbook.
The TV presenter and actor, who has starred in Hollywood hits such as The Good Wife and frequented the cobbles of Coronation Street, opened last year’s Listowel Food Fair with Lizzy’s Little Kitchen owner and Flogas Ambassador Lizzy Lyons.
The duo cooked dishes from Simon’s cookbook for VIP guests including Rose of Tralee Jennifer Bryne.
Blown Away by Hospitality
“During his brief visit in November Simon was blown away by the hospitality and warmth shown to him by the locals,” explains Lizzy who became acquainted with the presenter as a result of her monthly cookery slot appearances on TV3’s Sunday AM.
“Before he left I told him I would love him to come back and said he was welcome anytime his schedule allowed. He made a promise that he would do so and true to his word (and his personality!), he isn’t letting the grass grow under his fee!”
Return to Listowel
Speaking about his return to Listowel Simon said, “I enjoyed the Listowel Food Fair so much last year that I was thrilled to be invited back. I can’t wait to get cooking for the patrons of Lizzy’s – people of excellent taste, I believe!”
The pop up marks the start of a busy year for the Listowel native who has a number of special supper club nights planned for 2018, such was their success following their launch last year. A new collaboration with Listowel Library, funded by the Healthy Ireland initiative, will see the mother of two young boys take to the road with her Flogas cookery demo unit to showcase her passion for nutritious homemade meals and share her skills with audiences in the local libraries.
Ticket Only Event
In addition, Lizzy will continue to appear on TV3 on Sunday AM and returns on Sunday, January 28th.
There are two sittings and it is a ticket only event. Tickets are limited and are available from Lizzy’s Little Kitchen, Lower William Street, Listowel. For more details phone 087 149 7220 or visit: https://www.facebook.com/lizzyslittlekitchen
