John Brennan Appointed Desmonds Seniors’ Manager

John Brennan has been appointed as manager of the Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club senior football team for 2018.

John has confirmed that Kieran O’Callaghan, Nelius Lyons, Martin O’Donoghue and Dan Kearney, as trainer, will be an integral part of his management team.

Chairman, Jimmy O’Connell expressed his delight with the new management team and was optimistic that the team’s fortunes would improve.

First Game on February 11th

They play their first competitive fixtures in the North Kerry League on February 11th at home to Finuge; away to Listowel on the 18th and at home to Ballydonoghue on the 25th.

Hopefully they will qualify for the semi finals before the county league starts in mid March.

Desmonds AGM

The AGM was held last month and the following were elected:
President, Donal Kelliher; Vice Presidents: Jimmy Greaney, Dr. Dave Geaney, Kevin Dillon, Mary Murphy, Mary Horan, John Joe Walsh and Kevin Dillon.

Chairman,Jimmy O’Connell; Vice Chair, Michael J. Kearney; Secretary, Colm Kirwan; Treasurers: William O’Connor and Angela Ring O’Donoghue; PRO vacant;  County board delegate, Sean McCarthy;Insurance, Denny Lyons; Scor/Irish, Tomas O Conchuir; Club Development: Martin Downey and Timothy Twomey.

Ciara in Goals for Kerry U-14s

Castleisland Desmonds GAA Ladies Club is pleased to announce that Ciara Cronin been selected to play with the Kerry Ladies U-14 team.

Congratulations to Ciara she will take her place between the posts as goalkeeper. Her family, friends club-mates and trainers are very proud of her and wish her all the best for the coming season.
