Date For The Diary

All roads lead to Abbeyfeale on Monday, February 5th for a variety concert in aid of the Kerry, Cork and Limerick Health Link Bus in Fr. Casey’s GAA Clubhouse.

Artists on the night include:  Mike  Mini Moore McCarthy, Just William Reidy, Eddie Carey,  Frances Kennedy, Doris Shire, Chrissie Roche, Pat McCarthy, Eibhlin and Liam Broderick, Mary And Pat Bucke and Ray Lowe. Admission €10, tickets on the door.

Doors open 7.30pm, show 8pm sharp.  Raffle and spots.

Healthy Abbeyfeale Pilot Project

Abbeyfeale Community Council has been awarded funding by Healthy Ireland towards the setting up of a 10 week Healthy Abbeyfeale – Spring 2018 pilot project.

Activities include Teen Tone, Walk and Talk School Drop, Day Care Centre Session for the Elderly, Session for the Active Retirement Group in the Town Park and much more.

West Limerick Singing Club

West Limerick Singing Club will hold its annual traditional concert with special guest Anna Marie O’Riordan in Fr Caseys GAA Club Hall, Abbeyfeale on Saturday March 10th at 8pm. Admission €10.

Glórach Notes

Bingo continues on Monday’s at 8.30 pm, while for all football, and in particular, Liverpool FC fans, we have a treat coming up on Wednesday, February 7th.

Then we will be screening the film Shankly: Nature’s Fire. This 2017 documentary looks back at the legendary Bill Shankly, who, in his period as manager of Liverpool from 1959-74 won many honours and laid the foundations for future success.The film starts at 8 pm and all are welcome.

Free Computer Classes

Iolar Training is running some more free Digital Skills for Citizens computer and internet training courses in Newcastle West beginning on February 19/20.

The courses are open to everyone and will run for two hours per week for five weeks. Training is aimed at beginners and new users and gives participants the knowledge, skills and confidence to use the internet.

Last year, almost 500 Limerick city and county residents completed our free Digital Skills for Citizens courses going from learning how to switch on a computer to booking flights and making video calls.

The core topics covered include: Safety & security, Using email, Using search engines and websites, Accessing government services online, Conducting everyday transactions, Using apps, Voice and video calls online.

Optional modules include: Online shopping, online banking and security, Social media, Video, TV and radio online, Digital photography, Using YouTube instructional videos and advanced government services.

Training is free for all participants.
