Lollipop Day is about raising funds for research and assisting people with oesophageal cancer.
But, Castleisland Pharmacist, Aileen Lynch believes that raising awareness levels of the symptoms and early intervention is also of major importance.
Helping Out
“We are helping out with the esophageal cancer Lollipop Day campaign again this year. It’s on this Friday and Saturday.
“We got great help and encouragement from the local Transition Year students last year and they are helping out again on Friday
“We’re also collecting on Saturday in Garvey’s SuperValu and we’re appealing for support for this part of the campaign.
Support of Students and Townspeople
“I am very grateful for the support of the students and townspeople as I know there are a lot of great causes but people are still so generous with their time and money,” said Aileen.
Keep an eye out for the Lollipop Day collectors on Friday and Saturday and, if you can, do please ‘pop’ something in the collection box.
