Recruiting for 10th KDYS/An Garda Basketball Blitz

The Kerry Diocesan Youth Service, in partnership with An Garda Síochána, is on a recruitment drive ahead of its annual Good Friday Basketball Blitz.

This will be the 10th year of the Blitz. The event will be held in Castleisland Community Centre. Applications are invited from teams from the Castleisland area interested in taking part.

One Day Tournament

The tournament will take place over one day, Friday 30th March 2018, beginning at10am. There are three age categories: Primary school 4th, 5th and 6th class; U-15s and U-18s.

The tournament will be supported once again by local businesses and Garda Liz Twomey will be on hand as well as other volunteers to help co-ordinate the event.

Teams of Eight Players

Teams comprise of eight players, two of whom must be female and there must be one female on court at all times.

Any teams interested in taking part are advised to contact Helena Falvey or Garda Liz Twomey at KDYS Castleisland or phone 085 7878039 or  086 8282636 for an application form.

There is a small charge of €2 per player. Applications must be received by Tuesday, March 27th before 5pm.
