Cast Set for Good Friday Night Pageant

The casting of locals is all done and the path is clear for Good Friday’s Solemn Celebration of the Passion and Death of Christ at 8pm.

An appeal for volunteers last week helped producer, Jerome Stack to put the final touches to the biblical cast demanded of such a production.

Final Dress Rehearsal

The final dress rehearsal was held on Monday night at the Church of Saints Stephen and John and

anyone interested in getting involved was given the opportunity of doing so.

Held here annually since 2015, the event is a wonderful mix of drama and music with the substantial backing of the Castleisland Parish Choir in its portrayal of the greatest story ever told.

Good Friday Night at 8pm

It was at the instigation of Monsignor ‘Fr. Dan’ O’Riordan in 2015 that the Tralee based St. John’s Liturgy Drama Group travelled, with costumes and props, to Castleisland on Good Friday night.

The Tralee group travelled out for two years for the nightly shows after they had done their day-time stint in Tralee.

A Solemn Celebration

Then, last year the Castleisland based group took over under the direction of Jerome Stack and Brian Caball and the results you’ll see at 8pm on Good Friday night.

The shows are billed as ‘A Solemn Celebration of the Passion and Death of Christ’ – with colour musicians, the choir and a 30 plus strong cast of actors in costume.
