Independent, Kerry Deputy Danny Healy Rae has called on Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, TD to do more to help farmers who are desperate as fodder has completely run out.
Grass not Growing
“Grass is still not growing and I raised this issue with the minister at the Agriculture Oireachtas Committee meeting last week,” said Deputy Healy Rae
Kerry Group Help
“I’m also calling on the Kerry Group to help farmers, especially Kerry farmers.
Dairy Gold, Glanbia, Lakeland Daries and Boherbue Co-Op are sourcing and importing fodder and giving subsidies of €50.per ton off the price of ration to farmers in their areas,” said Deputy Healy Rae.
