Kieran’s XL Store in Knocknagoshel marked one year in business on April 3rd but the store is celebrating again after winning a gold award for outstanding excellence in retail.

Seal of Approval

Kieran was presented with the seal of approval at the recent, prestigious XL Retailing Standard Awards at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone.

The event, which attracted retailers from all over Ireland, was run by BWG Foods – the owners and operators of the XL brand.

Hard Work

The retail awards recognise the hard work carried out by retailers and the awards are given only to stores that pass a tough year-long inspection which includes visits from mystery shoppers.

Kieran’s XL was the only store in Kerry to win gold on the night.

Credit to Team

“I’m delighted to win gold as it was our first year being audited. It’s a credit to all the team of hard working staff who gave 100 per cent to having the shop looking its best,” said Kieran.

Aiming High

“The store will now be aiming to win the Xl Store of the Year next year. I would like to thank my hard working staff for everything and my customers and suppliers for their continued support,” said a happy Kieran in conclusion.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
