Garda vetting is now a legal requirement for all senior club members.

 

Garda Vetting – A Legal Requirement

Every person involved with the club in any capacity, working with children or vunerable adults must have secured Garda vetting.

This is a legal requirement since 2016.

Applicants should go to the Kerry GAA website; click on Clubzone  and then open the section on Child Welfare.

The application must be submitted on line.  Please note that you require a valid e mail address; photographic evidence of your identity e.g. copy of driving licence and proof of your current address e.g. recent utility bill.

Latest Lotto Draw Results

The latest Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club Lotto draw took place in Tom McCarthy’s Bar on Saturday night. The numbers drawn were 4, 11, 27, 30.

There was no winner of the jackpot.

Lucky dip prizes were won by Noel White, Firie;  Donal McCarthy, Cordal;  Elaine Fitzgerald, Scartaglen;  Helen Martin, Ballymac and Tommy O’Connor, Cordal.

The next draw will take place on Saturday, May 19th. Venue tbc.  Jackpot €4,600

Wednesday 9th: U-14 boys away to Gneeveguilla in the county league at 7.pm.

Thurday 10th:   U-8 boys District Blitz in Castleisland

Friday11th: Minors v An Ghaeltacht at home at 7.pm in the county league semi final.

Saturday 12th: seniors v Currow away in the county league at 7.pm

Girls U-14 at 12 noon at home

Sunday 13th: Ladies Seniors v Beaufort away

Co League Division 2

Desmonds 2-16 Ardfert 3-7

Desmonds defeated Ardfert by six points in the co league to maintain their position at the top of the leader board in division 2.

The first half was dominated by Desmonds as Ardfert could only score a David Griffin point and that came after 22 minutes of play

Points from Pat Fitzgerald, Steven Bartlett, Kieran Brennan and Brian Leonard with a Danny Hickey goal three points from Thomas Hickey were Desmonds scorers.

As expected Ardfert didn’t give up. Damien Wallace was in for a goal after five minutes but Desmonds pushed on with points from Sean Lynch and two more from Thomas Hickey, two From Pat Fitzgerald, one from Luka Brosnan and two from Cian O’Connor.

Danny Hickey put the game out of reach with his second goal after 18 minutes with Thomas Hickey making it 2-16 on the 20th minute.

Ardfert kept trying and added a goal and two points  and a Stephen Leen penalty on the stroke of full time. The final score Desmonds 2- 16 Ardfert 3 -7
