Kerry Sinn Féin TD Martin Ferris has said that he has accepted an invitation to attend an event in honour of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in Tralee this coming Friday.

The event is being hosted by Kerry County Council at Siamsa Tíre on Friday afternoon.

Eventual Re-unification

“While this decision may not meet everyone’s approval, I came to the conclusion, that as we move closer and closer to the eventual re-unification of our country, Republican’s must continue the process of reconciliation between the different traditions on our island and with our nearest neighbours,” said Deputy Ferris in accepting the invitation to attend.

Martin McGuinness and Queen Elizabeth

“When Martin McGuinness took the historic decision to meet with Queen Elizabeth it was rightly praised by most as an important step towards national reconciliation and I hope that my decision is seen in the same light,” Deputy Ferris concluded.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
